Using EPA’s Energy Use Assessment Tool for Water and Wastewater Systems

On Thursday, May 31, 2012, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water Energy Management Webinar Series will offer a free webinar on “Using EPA’s Energy Assessment Tool for Water and Wastewater Systems.” Here you can learn the steps in performing an energy-use assessment at small- to medium-sized water or wastewater systems.

What have we heard?
Providing safe drinking water and clean water is an energy-intensive activity. Many drinking water and wastewater utilities are recognizing the importance of reducing energy consumption as a means to reduce their operational costs.

What can help?
Performing energy-use assessments prior to a full-scale energy audit helps systems in understanding their total energy consumption.

How can this be done?
The EPA’s newly released Energy-Use Assessment Tool helps small- to medium-sized systems conduct a utility bill and equipment analysis to determine their individual baseline energy use and costs. This information can help systems make informed energy-efficiency and energy conservation decisions.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. EDT. Register today at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/334111822.
