Louisville Water Company is accepting applications for a Scientist I position. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 3, 2012. At a minimum, the applicant must possess a Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering, chemistry, biology or closely related discipline with three (3) years’ water quality or water treatment research experience, or a Master’s of Science degree with one (1) year of water quality or water treatment research experience. The ability to perform wet chemistry analyses, routine bacteriological analyses, routine organic laboratory analyses and routine metals laboratory analyses is needed. Failure to demonstrate proficiencies within 12 months will result in removal from position. Class IV-A water treatment operator’s license must be obtained within 24 months of award of job. Failure to obtain license within 24 months will result in removal from position. Must pass all required QA/QC protocols/tests administered by the State of Kentucky within six (6) months of award of job. Failure to pass required tests within six (6) months will result in removal from position. A valid driver’s license is required.
