On Nov. 14-15, 2012, the Division of Compliance Assistance’s Operator Certification Program will be offering a continuing education opportunity on Emergency Response Planning. This class is offered to both drinking water and wastewater operators and will be held at the DEP Training Center. During this two-day training, we will cover topics on how to prepare and respond to emergency events, such as flooding, ice storms and terrorism. A template for preparing a response plan will be discussed. The training will also include a session on generators, and examples of utilities with proper plans and those without will be examined and discussed. This class will be taught by DCA trainers, along with staff from the Division of Water, DEP Emergency Response Team and Kentucky Rural Water Association.
